Reyes Cares encompasses four key areas where we feel we can positively impact our communities. This month, we’re highlighting our community pillar.
Through volunteerism, product donations, philanthropic efforts, and partnerships, we're dedicated to making a positive and lasting impact. When our communities thrive, so do we.
Check out some of our latest community achievements:
The Reyes Cares team held a fleece blanket event at our Rosemont office for all employees to participate in. With our collective efforts, we were able to successfully put together over 30 fleece blankets for the children and families at Lurie Children's Hospital and the Ronald McDonald House in Chicago, IL.
Across Reyes Beverage Group, the Cheers for Charity and #RBGJOY programs came together to give back to the communities they serve. A highlight was Gate City Beverage's annual toy drive, which is a cherished tradition that brings joy to children in the Inland Empire area. With the support of employees and partners, they were able to donate over 300 toys.
Martin Brower is dedicated to making a difference in their communities across the world. Recently, the St. Johns Distribution Center led a basic needs collection for local shelters such as Haven House, Hannah’s House and the City Rescue Mission. These donations help provide critical support to those in need in St. Johns, Michigan.
Reyes Coca-Cola Bottling volunteers continued their strong partnership with Special Olympics Michigan at the November Classic. Team members from the Highland Park and Van Buren Distribution Centers helped with scorekeeping and timekeeping at the Regional Hockey Tournament in Pontiac. It was a great chance to support the athletes and celebrate their hard work and dedication.
While we’re excited to focus on our community pillar, we remain equally dedicated to advancing the other three pillars of Reyes Cares, which are recycling, energy and fuel & emissions.
Here’s a quick look at how we’re making a difference in these areas:
In recycling, Martin Brower continues to lead in sustainability, diverting 92% of its waste from landfills. Their efforts have also helped customers divert 53 million kilos of waste from their restaurants.
In energy, Reyes Coca-Cola Bottling and Lyon Township broke ground on a new, 345,000-square-foot distribution center. Built with sustainability and safety in mind, this furthers their commitment to a greener future for generations.
In fuel & emissions, Reyes Beverage Group’s idle time reduction program has already avoided +1M kg of carbon emissions since its launch in October 2021 demonstrating their dedication to reducing our environmental footprint.
